Frozen Recollection

by Sean Maki

Faeries whispered into dreams
Moonbeams swallowed whole
As though nothing has followed us
Back through cold flames, a name
Appears on your lips, and slips
Once more believing, you have
Control over something, anything
As you sing a hymn from pews
Branded in cold iron shame
Again you wake, almost real, still
You have no name
